FRANKLIN MENSAH - BOARD CHAIR
Franklin Mensah is a project finance professional for Robert Half
Management Associates. Franklin has over 12 years in the banking
and finance section. Franklin is a leader in assessing and
implementing improvements to both routine and complex accounting
functions, financial processes, including, but not limited to;
financial and data analysis, regulatory and management reporting
and compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley; operations support, and business
due diligence. Prior to joining Robert Half, Franklin worked for
BNP Paribas, New York Life Insurance Company, and Jefferson Wells
Management Consultants. Franklin has a Bachelor of Science from
the College of Aeronautics, New York and a MBA in Financial
Management from Pace University, Lubin School of Business, White
Plains, New York.
NANA-YAA E. GYASI Nana-Yaa E. Gyasi
graduated with a B.Sc. in Finance from Rutgers University, Newark,
New Jersey in 1999. Ms. Gyasi has worked as a Legal Secretary
since 1997. From 1985 to 1991 Ms. Gyasi worked in administration
for UniBank A.S. in London and New York. From 1983 to 1985, Ms.
Gyasi worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
in Geneva, Switzerland. Ms. Gyasi lived in Ghana from 1963 to 1982
where she received her high school education.
AKUA S. DANSO-MANU; RN, BSN, MSN
Akua Danso-Manu graduated with an associates degree in nursing
from Essex County College, Newark, New Jersey in 1995. Ms.
Danso-Manu also graduated with a Bachelors degree in nursing from
Seton Hall University in 2002 and a Masters degree, also in
nursing from Seton Hall in 2005. Since 1995 Ms. Danso-Manu has
been working for the St. Barnabas Healthcare System in Livingston,
New Jersey. Ms. Danso-Manu was born in Ghana where she lived until
she left for the United States shortly after finishing her high
school education.
JOYCE AWUKU-DARKO
Joyce Awuku-Darko is a Director, Global Commercial Strategy,
working on a novel agent for GlaxoSmithKline. Joyce has over 7
years of progressive pharmaceutical marketing experience,
primarily in the field of oncology. Most recently she served as
Brand Director, Hematology Marketing with Genta Inc., responsible
for development of launch plan and life-cycle planning for
Genasense in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and other indications.
Prior to Genta, Joyce also worked at Roche Pharmaceuticals, as
Product Director, Oncology Marketing responsible for the Breast
Cancer indication for Xeloda. In addition to her marketing career,
Joyce has spent a number of years in the finance industry. She
holds a BA in Economics from Mount Holyoke College, and an MBA in
Marketing/Finance from the Wharton School, University of
Pennsylvania. Ms. Awuku-Darko was born in Ghana where she lived
until completing here high school education at Wesley Girls High
School.
SYLVIA TAYLOR Sylvia is a paralegal
for the corporate department of Latham & Watkins LLP, New York.
Sylvia has over 10 years administrative experience working for the
United Nations Development Program in Ghana, West Africa. Sylvia
has a B. A. in French from Rutgers University, New Jersey.
JOYCE KWAMENA-POH Ms. Kwamena-Poh is
Executive Administrator at Interfaith Housing Alliance. In this
capacity she manages the Human Resources Department, is a Grant
Writer, and has oversight for general office management. Prior to
joining Interfaith Housing Alliance, Ms. Kwamena-Poh worked for
Africa Action in Washington, DC, and for African Services
Committee, Inc. in New York, both non profit organizations. Before
relocating to the United States in 1998, she worked for five years
as a Personnel Assistant at the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID) in her home country of Ghana.
Ms. Kwamena-Poh is also owner of JKP Consulting Group, an HR
Consulting firm that works with small to mid-sized companies,
primarily in Ghana, to help them establish and or strengthen their
Human Resource (HR) function. In this capacity, Ms. Kwamena-Poh
performs a needs assessment, and works with companies to implement
tailored strategic solutions to help their businesses grow and
become more effective by maximizing their human capital. Ms.
Kwamena-Poh's goal is to utilize her 10 plus years of management
experience in the nonprofit sector, as well as her overall
experience in the United States, to give back to the community
that nurtured her -- her home country, Ghana. She has a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Social Sciences from the University of Science and
Technology, (Ghana), and holds a Master's degree in Public
Administration from Columbia University's School of International
and Public Administration (SIPA), New York.
